Wu Gangping is Professor of the Institute of Curriculum and Instruction, East China Normal University, Ph.D in Education.

His research focuses on the fields of curriculum and instruction, and teacher education, particularly on curriculum resources, classroom teaching and learning, teacher development and school-based research. He has been involved in the research of the national curriculum reform in basic education and curriculum standards. He has been in charge of five key research programs of the Ministry of Education, including school-based research, effectiveness of teaching method reform, curriculum resources development, the classic and modern curriculum thoughts in China.

Prof. Wu has published and provided more than 80 research results including papers in academic journals and consulting reports to the Ministry of Education. He has published 4 academic monographs including School-based Curriculum Development, Practical Curriculum Management in School, The School-based Movements in Western Countries and its Enlightenments, Curriculum Resources. He is the editors-in-chief of several series such as School-based Research Series, Curriculum Resources and Management, National Program for Professional Support to Teaching Reform, and New Viewpoints for Teachers. He has published his translations of Handbook for Beginning Teachers and Key Concepts for Understanding Curriculum by Colin Marsh.

He has got his two first prizes at the First National Teaching Achievements Prizes in Basic Education Curriculum Reform and at the Third China Higher Education Excellent Achievement Prizes in Humanities.
