ICI Communication║Professor Rupert Wegerif, a dialogue education expert from the University of Cambridge, and his team visited the ICI

On the morning of November 8, 2024, Professor Rupert Wegerif, a dialog education expert at Cambridge University, and Dr. Shi Shengpeng of Cambridge University visited the Curriculum Institute and discussed dialogic teaching, educational technology and classroom analysis with Associate Professor Shi Yuchen, Assistant Director of the ICI.


Associate Professor Shi Yuchen introduced the dialogic teaching intervention research conducted by the ICI team in China, the artificial intelligence classroom analysis of the International Classroom Analysis Laboratory, and the policy influence and existing teacher training projects of the ICI. Professor Wegerif and Dr. Shi Shengpeng introduced the Digital Education Futures Initiative (DEFI) project of Hughes Hall, Cambridge University. Professor of Education at the University of Cambridge, founder and academic director of the Center for Future Digital Education at the University of Cambridge. As a leader in educational innovation, Professor Wegerif took the lead in integrating artificial intelligence into educational practice in the Internet era, and used technology to advance dialogue theory and practice, thereby improving the educational environment.


Professor Rupert Wegerif also introduced his team's recently published new book "The Dialogue of Educational Technology" and signed two new books for the ICI.

In April 2024, Dr. Shi Shengpeng and his team published an interview article about Professor Wegerif in the Global Education organized by the ICI, "From Socrates to ChatGPT: In-depth Expansion of Teaching Dialogue Space-Interview with Professor Rupert Wegerif of Cambridge University". The article deeply introduces how technologies such as the Internet, metaverse, and artificial intelligence expand the space for educational dialogue.

Both parties look forward to further strengthening cooperation in the future and jointly promoting technology-enabled dialogue education on a global scale.
