International Conference of Chinese Traditional Culture，Complexity Theory and Curriculum Reform Held in ECNU

International Conference of Chinese Traditional Culture，Complexity Theory and Curriculum Reform, held by ICI, the institute of curriculum and instruction of Zhe Jiang Normal University and the International Association for the Complexity Theory and Study of Education, was opened in the auditorium of Yi Fu Building in ECNU，on November 5th. More than 10 foreign education experts and 200 domestic scholars were invited to the conference. Deputy director professor Zhang Hua chaired the conference.

Professor William E. Doll, from the department of curriculum and instruction in Louisiana State University, attended the opening ceremony. He firstly expressed his love for Chinese culture and introduced his research group. Then on behalf of the organizing committee of this conference, he welcomed all participates and warmly invited them to attend the international seminar at same time of next year.

And next, professor Cui Yunhuo, director of ICI, made a warm and humorous welcome speech to all participates. He said that China's traditions in its long history and rich curriculum resources had a positive effect to the curriculum reform, while the simple linear logic could no longer cope with it. He believed that this conference should make sense for recognizing the curriculum reform and theory construction. Finally, he expressed his wish for the conference’s complete success.

The conference will last for 3 days, including three academic reports of general assembly, six sub-venue presentations and round table discussions.
