The Opening of the Project of the Crisis of Cultural Identity in Modern Educational Reform of China and Approaches of Curriculum Reconstruction: the Exploration of Guowei Wang, Shi Hu and Mu Qian Passed Smoothly

The opening of the project of the Crisis of Cultural Identity in Modern Educational Reform of China and Approaches of Curriculum Reconstruction: the Exploration of Guowei Wang, Shi Hu and Mu Qian, which is hosted by associate professor Yong Zhou, was held in the room 1602 in liberal building on 25th January, 2011. Professor Shuguang Huang in the department of education of ECNU, professor Gang Wu and Binyan Xu in the department of curriculum and instruction of ECNU, and professor Long Yue in department of education of Shanghai Normal University attended the opening.

According to associate professor Yong Zhou, it’s an ongoing difficult issue to deal with the crisis of cultural identity since modern times in educational reform of China. Since Guowei Wang, Shi Hu and Mu Qian have made much exploration on this issue, the project was aimed to reveal the way they construct the cultural identity in the flash between the ancient and the modern, the Chinese and the western culture, and the way they develop the curriculum of Chinese culture in modern educational system.
