The 55th annual conference of Comparative & International Education Society was held in Montreal Canada during May 1st to 5th, 2011. Its topic is Education is that which liberates.
He Shanyun, postgraduate candidate of ICI and visiting fellow of UCLA, attended the conference and made two keynote speeches. One is School’s Response to the Reform in Teacher Evaluation, which was made in the theme venue of Problems in Asian Education Reforms. It used perspective of post-structuralism to analyze China’s teachers’ and headmasters’ understanding to evaluation and their behavior to influence policies. The other is School-Based Curriculum Movement in China, 2001-2010, which was made in the theme venue of Problems in Curriculum: Value and Ideal. It analyzed the role of educational researchers in China’s school-based curriculum in the setting of social transformation.
