Professor David Clarke and Doctorate Lihua Xu Visits ICI

Professor David Clarke and Doctorate Lihua Xu from International Classroom Research Centre of the University of Melbourne visited ICI on May 26, 2011. They delivered a lecture named A Less Partial Vision: Classroom Research Using Multi-theoretic Research Designs in ICI. Director Professor Yunhuo Cui received them and attended the academic seminar between Chinese and foreign scholars. The lecture is hosted by professor Xinning Pei. Associate professor Tainian Zheng and Xiangdong Yang, and also other tens of teachers, researchers, postgraduates of ECNU took part in this academic activity.

In the lecture, Professor Clarke introduces their research interests and then explains the designing framework and principles of unbiased classroom research based on multi-perspectives and multi-theories. And procedures or methods of collecting data of classroom activities by using more than one cameras and voice frequency are also introduced. Doctorate Lihua Xu reports her classroom research based on distributed cognitive theory and variant theory.
