Professor Peter Mclaren Visits ICI

With the association of doctor candidate Shanyun He, Professor Peter Mclaren from UCLA America visited ICI during June 1-2. Director Professor Yunhuo Cui received him and did a deep exchange on promoting social progress by authorizing teachers and curriculum reform with him.

During his visitation, Professor Peter Mclaren delivered a lecture named the future of the Marxism, the education practice and capitalism. He analyses the social and educational challenge stimulated by transnational capitalism. He thought that the classical perspective and analysis framework of Marxism should be developed and perfect to be able to investigate economical and cultural problems existed in our society. In addition, he and his academic partner professor Nathalia E. Jaramillo showed their thought on how to eliminate educational and cultural inequality by reforming educational theories, curriculum development and teacher education.
