Professor Binyan Xu Visited Chile and Raised a Great Mass Fever of Chinese Math Education

On invitation of University of San Thomas (UST), Professor Binyan Xu attended the

International Forum of Education in San Diego, Chile. In her conference report named

research on the Classroom Education of Math in China, Professro Xu gave a systematic

introduction to the traditional and cultural features of Chinese education as well as an

analysis of the characteristics of the classroom education of Math in China. She also

presented effective ways to the professinoal development of Chinese math teachers.

During her visitation to other cities like Talca and Vina del mar, Professor Xu made

acdemic communications with college professors and teachers from primary and secondary

schools, and provided training courses for them. All of her speeches and training courses

were highly appreciated and raised a fever of Chinese math education thoughout the

country in Chile, which brought out an inclination for co-operation in nursing and training

math teachers from Chile. ICI is willing to do contributions to the enhancement of math

educationand in Chile, and further discussions to this topic would undertake soon.
