ICI Honor║Professor Cui Yunhuo Was Awarded the Title of “Shanghai Model Worker”

Recently, the list of “Shanghai Model Workers (Advanced Workers) 2015-2019” was announced. Professor Cui Yunhuo, the director of the Institute of Curriculum and Instruction (ICI), was awarded the title of “Shanghai Model Worker (2015-2019)”.

Shanghai Municipal Government conducts the selection of “Shanghai Model Workers” every five years, mainly to recognize workers who have made outstanding contributions to Shanghai. Professor Cui Yunhuo, as the director of ICI, leads the research group to promote the national basic education curriculum reform for a long time, and contributed wisdom to the development of education in the new era.

As an excellent supervisor of East China Normal University (ECNU), Professor Cui Yunhuo makes great achievements in talent cultivation, he has won the title of “Shanghai Yucai Award” in 2019.

Shoulder the mission of the times, conduct grass-roots exploration

Professor Cui Yunhuo and his research group always carry out research and practice with “the combination of grass-roots exploration and top-level design, and of local action and international vision”. The published monograph “Evaluation of Curriculum Implementation Quality in Schools” was selected as one of the “40 Most Influential Books in the Past 40 Years of the Reform and Opening Up”, and won the first prize of the Eighth National Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research in Universities (Humanities and Social Sciences).

In more than 20 years of research and practice, Professor Cui and his research group have deeply participated in the national curriculum reform. The research achievement “The Construction and Practice of School Curriculum Development Model Under the Background of National Curriculum Reform”, won the first prize in the National Teaching Achievement Award of Basic Education (2018).
