ICI Promotion Ceremony ║Prof. An Guiqing: Research on Transdisciplinary Curriculum Development Guide

Due to COVID-19, the Institute of Curriculum and Instruction (ICI) held a belated promotion ceremony for Prof. An Guiqing. Prof. An made a report named “Research on Transdisciplinary Curriculum Development Guide”. Cui Yunhuo, Ke Zheng, Lei Hao, Liu Junyan, Shi Yuchen, Wang Tao, Wang Bingru, Xiao Sihan, Yang Jiuquan, Yang Xiaozhe, Zhou Wenye, Zhou Yong attended the ceremony, a total of 60 teachers and students participated in the activity.

On behalf of all the colleagues of ICI, Prof. Cui Yunhuo congratulated Dr. An on her promotion, and awarded her a commemorative plaque.

Brief Introduction of the Report

First, Prof. An introduced the background of Transdisciplinary Curriculum Development Guide. Transdisciplinary curriculum development is necessary for us to implement the curriculum program, it reflects the demand of the development of students’ key competency to the curriculum development model.

Then, centering on the nature and concept of transdisciplinary curriculum development, Prof. An made a detailed elucidation of the concept of transdisciplinary curriculum development guide.

On the one hand, Prof. An highlighted that it is important for schools to define specific competency direction clearly when making transdisciplinary curriculum program. On the other hand, according to the feature of different subjects, she listed some suggestions about the design of the purpose, content, implementation and evaluation of transdisciplinarycurriculum.

At last, Prof. An suggested the design techniques of teaching objectives, evaluation tools, learning tasks and learning supports through cases.

After the report, Prof. An and Prof. Cui had a heated discussion and interaction with teachers and students on the spot, and conducted in-depth dialogue and exchanges on many issues, such as “transdisciplinary integration” etc.
