Brief Introduction of the Report

What does artificial intelligence mean to students? Is it over-step learning or a kind of enlightenment? Associate Professor Yang Xiaozhe first introduced the issue, expressing that artificial intelligence teaching is not to inculcatechildren by pulling out seedlings, but to improve children’s life today and in the future according to their experience and the problems they encounter.

Taking artificial intelligence painting and the design of Xiaomi logo as examples, Dr. Yang put forward an unavoidable practical problem-whether we like it or not, we are moving forward with the integration of artificial intelligence. Constantly reflecting on the significance of intelligence and the value of human beings, Yang introduced and shared the background, policy and orientation of artificial intelligence in primary and secondary schools in China, and pointed out that learning artificial intelligence technology is not only to master code, to master programming and artificial intelligence technology itself, but to learn, understand and change the world through artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is not mysterious, maybe when you know more about it, when you write a program, you even find that it is not intelligent at all. Even so, it makes more sense. Of course, it takes a long process, just like you know a new friend, you need time to understand the friend’s name, background, experience, as well as preferences, personality, abilities and thinking. Until one day, you can do more unexpected things with it.

Associate Professor Yang Xiaozhe also shared his book series, and made an introduction of its content through the structure of “knowing-experiencing-analyzing-applying-creating”.

At the end of the report, Associate Professor Yang Xiaozhe and the audiences held in-depth dialogue and exchanges on several issues such as “the advantages of artificial intelligence design” and “the application of artificial intelligence in education”.
