


In order to promote the coordinated development of global intelligent education, empower the innovation and development of education in all respects, and reshape curriculum reform, the panel “Curriculum Reform: From Technology Empowerment to System Reshaping” was held by ICI on July 9th, 2021.





Keynote Reports

Seven experts were invited to deliver keynote reports. Prof. Ke Zheng, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Education, presided over the panel.

Prof. Christopher Dede from Harvard University made a report entitled “AI in Education: Today and Tomorrow”. He pointed out that lifelong learning is necessary in the future, and artificial intelligence will undertake part of the work of human beings, but not all of their work. We need to pay more attention to the cultivation of students’ ability of judgment, only in this way, can the balance and the division of labor between human beings and machines be reasonable and efficient.

Ni Minjing, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission made a report entitled “Human Beings Come First When We Talk About the Empowerment of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Education”.

Prof. Ryan Baker from the University of Pennsylvania made a report entitled “Informing Adaptive Learning”. He mentioned that adaptive learning should follow three steps: determining the situation of students, knowing what is important, and implementing correct intervention.

Luo Bin, the Principal of Beijing Haidian Teachers Training College made a report entitled “Reconstruction of Teaching and Research Based on Technology”. She talked about efficient learning based on the changes of concept, content, organization and students, and further emphasized the importance and feasible path of high-quality teaching and research.

Associate Professor Yang Xiaozhe made a report entitled “The Next Step of Artificial Intelligence in Education”. He believed that the development of artificial intelligence has attracted much attention, but the research and application in the field of education is still in its infancy. We still need to pay attention to the specific application scenarios of educational artificial intelligence, only in this way, can we find a foothold and breakthrough.

Zhang Yueying, the Principle of Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School, made a report entitled “Comprehensive Evaluation System that Promote Students’ Development”. Zhang talked about the system from five aspects: recording the growth process of students, providing high-quality learning resources, evaluating students’ development, exchanging all kinds of information about home and school, and analyzing and diagnosing all kinds of data.

Jin Lei, Vice-president of Youdao, Wangyi, made a report entitled “AI Leads the Way to Open a New Chapter of Intelligent Education”. He believed that in the process of the development of artificial intelligence and technology, artificial intelligence can improve learning efficiency and reduce learning costs greatly, thus promoting educational equity.
