A few days ago, the new book "Fourteen Lectures on Contemporary Curriculum and Teaching Issues" by Professor Wu Gangping from the Institute of Curriculum and Instruction of East China Normal University was officially published by East China Normal University Press.

This book focuses on reform topics in the four major areas of curriculum, teaching, evaluation, and teaching research, and strives to explore the conceptual construction path of contemporary curriculum and teaching issues.


One is to reconstruct old concepts. Taking the course content as an example, through conceptual reconstruction, the single object content is expanded into a composite content whole that is superimposed and integrated with object content, process content, and result content, opening up a space for cultivating core literacy for the structural reform of course content and path.


The second is to deepen emerging concepts. Taking curriculum resources as an example, the source of teaching content and the conditions of teaching activities are integrated as curriculum resources and subdivided into material resources and conditional resources, and the core concepts and related concept groups of curriculum resources are thus formed to jointly lead and support the school course resource development and utilization activities at the classroom teaching level.

The third is filling conceptual vacancy . Taking teaching instruction as an example, it is distinguished from teaching behavior. Teaching instruction is the theoretical basis for teachers to directly act on the teaching factors of the "person" of students, and then promote students to directly interact with those teaching factors of "things". It opens up new directions and ideas for the reform of literacy-oriented education methods.



Through the conceptual construction of the three major paths, an explanation framework and solutions for education and teaching problems are formed, providing professional support for front-line teachers in teaching reform innovation and achievement summary, and contributing to the discipline construction of curriculum and teaching theory.
