The Center for Chinese Think Tank Research and Evaluation at Nanjing University officially released the 2025 CTTI Top 100 University Think Tanks ranking. Following rigorous algorithm-driven calculations based on objective institutional data within the Chinese Think Tank Index (CTTI) database, supplemented by strict evaluations from an expert working group, the Institute of Curriculum and Instruction (ICI) at East China Normal University has once again been awarded an A-Grade designation in the Top 100 University Think Tanks.

As a premier institution in its field, ICI remains the only think tank specifically dedicated to curriculum and instruction research to be consistently included in this prestigious national index.

Over the years, ICI has steadily consolidated its position within China's top-tier policy advising and educational research infrastructure:

September 2017: Selected as one of the inaugural members of the National High-End Think Tank Alliance.

Methodology and Selection Competitiveness

The selection process for the 2025 CTTI Top 100 list was highly competitive. A total of 810 university think tanks across China participated in the evaluation. The CTTI framework utilizes a comprehensive PAIE Evaluation Model to rank candidates, merging quantitative algorithmic analytics with qualitative expert oversigh

Out of the 810 competing institutions, only the top 100 demonstrating the most outstanding comprehensive performance were selected into the final list, representing a highly selective admission rate of approximately 12.3% (with an additional 31 institutions receiving honorable mentions).

This renewed A-Grade ranking underscores ICI's sustained excellence in translating cutting-edge curriculum research into actionable policy recommendations, further driving national educational governance reform in China.
